ikkoryu fukuoka ramen

My brother rarely shops for clothes and shoes but when he does, he always asks me to accompany him.  He may be not-so-little anymore but he still needs his big sister's fashion advice :)  So we went to High Street after work and after finally buying a pair of jeans at American Eagle and shoes at Kenneth Cole, I was starving!

I wanted to try something new and I saw that there's now an Ikkoryu Fukuoka, and since my brother loves ramen, we gave it a try.

I got one of their best sellers (at least according to their server), the Ikkoryu Original Tonkotsu:
But sadly, it was just so-so.  I didn't like it that much that I barely finished half of my bowl.  My brother got one of the spicy ones and he also didn't like it.  He usually finishes his food but not this time.  He tasted my ramen and same verdict, not so good.

The saving grace of our meal was the appetizer that we got - fried wonton chips with creamy uni dip:
The uni dip was really good!  I could have finished it on my own.  Good thing the serving was pretty big so even if we weren't able to finish our ramen, the chips and dip filled us up.

Yushoken in Alabang is still the best ramen for me (followed by Ramen Nagi) and I'm still yet to find something better than that ;)
